President Trump taken to underground bunker for a time.
Several Secret Service members were injured and President Trump was taken into a protective bunker on Sunday as the protests over the police killing of George Floyd continued through the weekend. Several fires were started by rioters in Lafayette Park causing a majority of the Secret Service injuries. As a result of the massive unrest, the entire D.C. National Guard was called to help protect the nation’s capital.
As the weekend progressed, what started out as peaceful demonstrations devolved into more visceral displays with individuals hurling rocks, bricks, and bottles at the D.C. police and Secret Service. Arlington County police also assisted the U.S. Park Police upon receiving a mutual aid request. Following the evening’s clashes, President Trump praised the efforts of law enforcement saying, “Great job last night at the White House by the U.S. Secret Service. They were not only totally professional but very cool.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That God would keep protestors safe and reveal the instigators of the riots.
- For President Trump to be protected from physical harm.
- That members of the Secret Service who were hurt would quickly recover.
